The first burn is crucial to the life of your candle. Let the candle burn until the entire surface is melted. This "wax pool" prevents a tunnel from forming and ensures an even burn with each subsequent lighting. This usually takes 2-3 hours, depending on the size of the candle.
2. Wick care: A small cut makes the difference
A clean wick is the key to a steady flame and clean combustion. Before lighting the candle, trim the wick to about 0.5 cm. This reduces soot formation and prevents the flame from flickering. Use special wick trimmers or regular scissors.
